Websites emit carbon due to electricity consumption
What? Wait! How?
An average user surf's the website with at least 3 tabs/windows open simultaneously
The blog/website might consist of heavy animations, background processes, and other visual effects making the visitors using high electric energy to generate and display your site resulting into CO2 emission.
How much CO2 do you emit, when surfing the web? Every minute a thousand visitors spend browsing a website an average of about 1.2kg of CO2 is emitted into our atmosphere.
All you have to do is implement the below code into your blog/website.
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://www.onlineleaf.com/savetheenvironment.js?time=30"></script>
Blogger : Add an HTML widget or paste the code above </body> tag in edit HTML (CTRL+F To Search)
It hides heavy animations, covers the window in dark colors (as these, in many cases are less energy consuming) and pauses heavily running background processes.
